Seeking Office Manager/Counter Sales

All Season Wholesaler Growers in South Phoenix is looking to add an Office Manager/Counter Sales to their team due to growth. Responsible for overall front office activities, including the reception/will-call area, mail and facilities. Also responsible for directing and coordinating office services and related activities, including developing and supervising programs for the maximum utilization of services and equipment. Responsible for accounting functions. Hours are Monday through Friday from 7-3 p.m.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities include managing the reception/will-call area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications both internally and externally to maintain the professional image of the company, supervising overall administrative activities, supervising the maintenance and alteration of office areas and equipment, as well as layout, arrangement and housekeeping of office facilities, negotiating the purchase of office supplies and furniture, office equipment, etc., in accordance with company purchasing policies and budgetary restrictions, supervising the maintenance of office equipment, including copier, fax machine, etc., point of contact for will-call sales including responding to bid and price requests, coordinating pick up or delivery of material, managing all accounting duties including purchase orders, accounts payable, accounts receivable, merchant services and bank accounts, and participating as needed in special projects.

Skills and Attributes: At least two years of office/nursery experience, ability to speak basic/conversational Spanish, excellent communication and organizational skills, good planning and well-developed interpersonal skills, computer literate in MS Word for Windows, Excel and QuickBooks, ability to negotiate effectively with customers and/or clients, and ability to lift approximately 15-20 lbs.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, at least two years of previous experience with a nursery and in office management.

Nursery Technician Wanted

Pay: $10/hour. Housing provided.

Description: Located on the banks of the Colorado River in Parker, AZ, the Colorado River Indian Tribes ‘Ahakhav Tribal Preserve works to restore and protect native plants, wildlife, and resources. The ‘Ahakhav Native Plants Nursery provides all plants used in the Preserve’s restoration projects. Duties: This position will have a variety of responsibilities to support the greenhouse/nursery in completing large mesquite tree orders. The Nursery Technician will oversee and participate in the germination process, care of seedlings and greenhouse maintenance. The Nursery Technician should have experience managing a work crew. The Nursery Technician will work mainly outdoors, and applicants are encouraged to have a familiarity with the Arizona climate.

Additionally, the chosen applicant must have a serious desire to stay with the Native Plants Nursery, as they will be trained and considered for the full-time Nursery Director position. The Nursery Director will be in charge of all greenhouse/nursery activities, and would ideally have experience growing, propagating, and caring for woody species and managing work crews. Benefits, including a substantial pay increase, health/dental insurance and vacation and sick time, are available with the Nursery Director position.

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in horticulture or a related field. 1-2 years of experience working in a greenhouse or propagating plants. Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, self-motivator, and willing to work outside, often doing repetitive physical tasks. Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass a drug test. Spanish speaking is a plus.

Restoration Assistant Wanted

The Restoration Assistant will work closely with the ‘Ahakhav Ecologist and must have the flexibility to take on other related tasks as projects develop. This position requires outdoor work, and applicants are encouraged to have a familiarity with Arizona climate.

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree or coursework in forestry, environmental science or related field. Experience working in a nursery and/or with desert plants preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, self-motivated, and willingness to work outside, often doing repetitive physical tasks, required. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Spanish speaking a plus.
